Scientists: Deadly superflare the Sun is quite possible – REGNUM

Beijing, March 25, 2016, 09:30 – REGNUM An international team of astrophysicists from China, Italy, Belgium and Denmark came to the conclusion that the sun is able to generate superflare, deadly to all life on Earth, according to the Nature Communications publication pages.

The researchers analyzed the results of observations over 5648 stars, similar in characteristics to the sun. We used data and Kepler telescopes LAMOST. During observations of 48 stars have been recorded superflare whose power to tens of thousands of times greater than the power of solar flares.

It specifies that the four stars of them had a magnetic field that is identical to the magnetic field of the sun. It is about KIC 8493735 stars, KIC 9025370, KIC 8552540 and KIC 8396230.

On the basis of this, astrophysicists have concluded that solar flares and superflare other stars have the same nature.

Solar flares happening now, thrown into space a huge amount of energy. Outbreaks affect the electronics of satellites and airplanes, as well as the well-being of people.
