Frames total solar eclipse – RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, March 20 – RIA Novosti. One of the most anticipated astronomical events of 2015, a total solar eclipse took place on Friday, according to the world’s leading astronomical internet portals.

BROADCAST COMPLETED: Full sun Eclipse

The eclipse began in the North Atlantic, then, after passing through the Faroe Islands and the Norwegian Sea, the Moon’s shadow proceeded to the archipelago of Svalbard, and then north to the North Pole. The maximum duration of a total lunar eclipse reached 2 minutes 47 seconds at phase 1.044 (namely by an amount the apparent size of the Moon surpassed the size of the sun). The point of maximum eclipse was in the Norwegian Sea to the east of Iceland.

Partial phases of the eclipse is theoretically possible to be seen in Europe and Russia. Most phase, which could, according to specialists, to watch from the territory of Russia, was 0.87 – Murmansk.
