Moscow State Lomonosov University (MSU) and Saint Petersburg State University (SPSU), got a hundred ranking the most prestigious universities in the world, which is dominated by institutions from the US and the UK, according to Tass.
As reported on Thursday reputation rating, prepared by the British magazine Times Higher Education, which specializes in education, MSU took 25 th place. It became the highest position that Moscow University has ever served in the rankings, developed annually since 2011.
The flagship of the Russian higher education made a dizzying rise compared to last year’s results, when the university was in the group of universities that have divided place from 51 th to 60 th. St. Petersburg State University, in turn, became the rookie rankings, prepared on the basis of responses 10 500 professors from 142 countries who have published scientific papers and working in this field for over 15 years. St. Petersburg State University was in a group of universities, ranked 71st to 80th.
Meanwhile, headed the list for the fifth consecutive Harvard University in the US. The second and third places were British Cambridge and Oxford universities, each of which added four positions compared to last year. The remaining seven lines of the top ten are occupied by American universities.
