Nobel laureate and honorary Alferov from St. Petersburg celebrates 85th anniversary – TVNZ

Today, the Russian scientist, the founder of a new direction in physics Zhores Alferov turns 85 years old. But none of this years honorary Petersburger not a hindrance: a RAS – Vice-President, in the St. Petersburg Scientific Center of the Academy – Chairman, and the State Duma – the deputy.

Zhores – Russia’s only Nobel laureate in physics, who now lives in country. The real breakthrough in science he did in 2000: made a number of discoveries in the field of semiconductor and quantum electronics that allow the physics to the next level.
