The Council adopted the decision on the union of MAI and MATI – Ghhauto – the main news in Russia

Pro-rector of the Moscow Aviation Institute, said that the Scientific Council decided to merge the two universities – MAI and mother. Their decision became known on March 6, but the decision was taken 4th. This is a “merger” of the two major universities is the third in the Moscow region.

Vyacheslav Shevtsov, Vice-Rector of the Moscow Aviation Institute, said that this association has long been thought. Shortly after that, two days later MAI accepted their offer. At the moment, universities are awaiting a decision from the Ministry of Education about this merger.

12 departments (including the Department of Military Training) and 58 departments MATI join the 17 faculties of the MAI. Thus, students can receive CPE wider choice of occupations. Students admitted to the union, their fate is not clear. However, changes in the education system, most likely, they will not be affected. If any, and will then be distributed they will have for the next generation of students.

This is the third case of a merger of major universities. Previously, the association was held at Moscow State University of Economics, Statistics and Informatics (MESI) and the Russian Economic University named after GV Plekhanov (REU them. Plekhanov) and the Moscow State University named humanitarian Sholokhov (Moscow State Mining University) and Moscow State Pedagogical University ( Moscow State Pedagogical University).
