A group of scientists working in Ethiopia, reports that dug up the oldest bones of the famous representative of the genus Homo: according to experts, a fragment of the lower jaw primate – about 2.8 million years.

Last of the oldest bones humanoids dates back 2.4 million years to the present day.

According to anthropologists, the Ethiopian finding suggests that climate change has spurred human ancestors to move from wood to erectus lifestyle.

Ethiopian student huts Seyoum, who discovered the jawbone in Lady Guerard, told the BBC BBC that was “delighted” by the fossil.

According to Professor William Kimbell from the Institute of Human Origins at the University Arizona, the jaw of the Lady stands perfectly in the evolutionary chain between the australopithecines like Lucy widely known and described the first representatives of the genus Homo.
