The United States accused three hackers in the largest hacking email – BBC News

The United States accused two Vietnamese nationals and Canadians in the largest ever hacking into e-mail servers and money laundering of illegally obtained. About it, reports Tass, the press service of the Ministry of Justice of the United States.

According to the Ministry, one of the two accused the Vietnamese, who was arrested in the Netherlands in 2012 and extradited to the United States two years later, already pleaded guilty. His compatriot, passing in the same case, is on the run. A third person involved in the case – a Canadian citizen living in Montreal – soon appear in court in Atlanta (GA).

According to US law enforcement, two Vietnamese living in the Netherlands, from 2009 to 2012 implemented hacker attacks on computer networks at least eight different companies based in the United States and providing e-mail services. Hackers managed to steal confidential information – more than a billion e-mail addresses and personal details. Later, this information was used for spamming. The Internet company, which owned the Canadian according to the investigation served as a cover for illegal use of stolen confidential data.

Criminal acts “trinity” became the subject of a separate investigation conducted by the US Congress in June 2011.
