MOSCOW, March 12 – RIA Novosti. Moscow State University (MSU) named after Lomonosov took 25th place in the ranking of world universities reputational (World Reputation Rankings), is the highest position, which is the flagship of the Russian education ever held in this list.
The list, which includes 100 universities in the world with the best reputation, made the application of the British magazine Times – Times Higher Education – together with Elsevier, specializing in the publication of scientific journals. To rank were interviewed more than 10,000 scientists in 140 countries.
The ranking was another Russian university – Saint Petersburg State University (SPSU), which entered the seventies top 100.
Last year, MSU was only in the sixth decade of the rating, but even then it drafters noted that the university has the potential to improve the position. As for the St. Petersburg State University, the institution of the northern capital of Russia for the first time included in the global list of universities with the highest reputation.

The rest of American schools have lost some of the leading positions: Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University have given way to second and third British universities – the University of Cambridge and Oxford respectively.
