Disassembly Phone 7 Plus from iFixit and a video testing the iPhone 7 strength – 3DNews

the hands of experts iFixit got the new flagship smartphone Apple. Of conspicuous external changes compared to the previous generation can be noted a departure from the unsightly lines for antennas on the back side, so that the machine became more attractive, the abandonment of the 3.5 mm connector and not very aesthetic thickening in the center of the camera (this sacrifice the company went for a new photo – and video recording functions). The device has become lighter by 4 grams.

Disassembling the part where the audio Jack is informed, shows that the company got rid of the classic connector, not least for the sake of saving internal space. In this lower part of the apparatus is now placed significantly increased “engine”, responsible for tactile feedback. This is a necessary change, given the rejection of the mechanical Home button in favour of touch with the registration of the pressure.

Disassembly iFixit confirmed that the device battery has become more capacious than the iPhone 6s Plus (2900 mAh vs 2750 mAh), even without taking into account the transition to a thin 16-nm FinFET process technology in a single-chip system A10, new battery needs a little to extend the battery life (as Apple said during the announcement).

As you can see in the image, the main camera with two OIS lenses (telephoto and wide angle 2 × optical zoom) is a single module housed in the thickening, which is now part of the case (obviously to protect from water and dust). The main Board is removed much easier than the predecessor, which is a bit easier to work repairmen. Apple A10 chip Fusion, by the way, is complemented with 3 GB of LPDDR4 memory made by Samsung.

Protection from water and dust is one of the main innovations of the iPhone 7 Plus. But in fact the waterproof camera make such minor improvements like the touch Home button, a rubberized tray for the SIM card (along with the rubber eject button SIM) or the previously mentioned camera unit. Rubber seals — not a new technology, but they are effective in protecting from water and dust (just need to make sure when you replace the SIM that the gasket is in place and good contact with the case).

Buttons have also become more recessed into the housing and rubberized to protect from moisture — the disadvantages include the fact that rent, they became more complicated. We are not talking about the “Home button”, which is not a button in the usual sense — now it is just the touch sensor together with the fingerprint sensor. To remove and replace it has become very simple — good news, considering the fact that the only service replacement Home button from iFixit have used nearly 100,000 iPhone owners. However, even the waiver of mechanics needs to increase the reliability of this module.

In General, maintainability of the machine remained at the level of its predecessor: to disassemble the device became easier, some harder. To see in all detail the process of disassembling the iPhone 7 Plus on the website iFixit. The end result of this work is presented on photo:

as a little bonus — a video in which the iPhone 7 is tested for strength and flexibility. For example, the display unit corresponds to the scratch-resistance standard smartphone display, like the glass on the Home button or on the camera lens; the keys in the pocket would not really scratch the housing, but the highlight is done with ease; after 10 seconds of direct contact with fire pixels become black (but then recovered), by bending to break the smartphone is almost impossible, but damage protection from water — easy:
