The top universities in the world includes 24 universities of Russia – Days.

the British magazine Times Higher Education (THE) presented the annual ranking of the best universities in the world. The list shows the 980 institutions of higher education. Included in the top 24 universities of Russia, the leader of which was the Moscow state University (MSU) of M. V. Lomonosov.

In 2016 the number of Russian universities has almost doubled – from 13 to 24, noted on the official website of the publication. The leader of the ranking, MSU was on 188th place, sharing this position with the Aberdeen University (UK).

Second place among domestic universities won the Moscow Institute of physics and technology. In the overall ranking, its location corresponds to the 301-350 group.

Third place went to Saint-Petersburg national research University of information technologies, mechanics and optics. His position in the overall top matches the 351-400 group.

fourth place was the Highest school of Economics. In the world ranking Metropolitan University is located in the 401-500 group.

five of the best Russian schools was closed by Kazan state University. It is located in the 401-500 group.

Also, the rating includes the national research nuclear University “MEPhI”, Novosibirsk state University, Saint Petersburg state University, Tomsk Polytechnic University, Tomsk state University, MGTU of a name of N. Uh. Bauman, Polytechnic University, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod University named after N. And. Lobachevsky, national research University “MIET”, Saratov state University, national research technological University “MISIS” Novosibirsk state technical University, peoples ‘ friendship University and others.

According to the study authors, this year, in addition to the quality of technical subjects, has been analyzed, the Humanities and the arts. “The rating includes universities from 79 countries, representing the elite universities that make up 5% of all higher education institutions in the world”, – stated in the article.

Best University for the first time in the 12-year history of the ranking were voted Oxford (UK). In second place is California Institute of technology (USA), the third – Stanford University (USA).
